Hi
What do most candidates do while they sit waiting to be called for their IELTS Speaking test?
A lot of candidates sit quietly.
A lot of candidates talk to other candidates in their own language (i.e. not in English).
While you’re waiting to be called for your IELTS Speaking test, what you could be doing is speaking English. By doing this…
- the time will pass more quickly
- you’ll feel less nervous
- you’ll be able to speak English more easily when you start your test
You could ask the person sitting next to you where he or she is from or if he or she has taken an IELTS test before. You could ask the supervisor how many candidates there are taking the test.
You could talk about the weather!
Good luck
Pete
