Think ‘green’ for your IELTS test

Hi

I keep seeing the word ‘green‘ in the news: ‘green transport’, ‘green investment’ and just recently ‘green weddings’.

This word, meaning ‘environmentally-friendly’, is a word you need to know because you may have to read, write or speak about a particular environmental issue (or listen to a recording about one) in your IELTS test.

To get you thinking ‘green’, here are a couple of links to recent newspaper articles on green topics.

China overatkes US in green investments‘ is an article about which countries are investing the most in clean energies.

Green couples tie the recycled knot‘ is an article about what some New Zealand couples are doing to make their weddings more environmentally-friendly. By the way, ‘tie the knot‘ is an informal way of saying ‘get married’.

Check them out.

Pete
