Some weekend reading for you

Hi

As I’ve mentioned before, as part of your IELTS preparation it’s a good idea to read articles related to topics that commonly occur in the IELTS test.

To give you an idea of the types of articles that are useful, here’s a link to one that’s related to the common IELTS topic of transport.

A hydrogen car

Is hydrogen the future of motoring?

If you read the article, you can find out why hydrogen-powered cars may become more popular in the UK in the future.

If this isn’t a topic that you usually read about, check you understand the following vocabulary first:

  • hydrogen, oxygen, fuel tank, refuelling stations, emissions, electric vehicles, petrol-driven cars, infrastructure, fossil fuels, renewable energy

and…

  • recharge, refuel

For a less serious (and much shorter) article on the common IELTS topic of transport, check out ‘Gold jewellery car unveiled‘.

Have a good weekend,

Pete

PS The photo above is of a hydrogen-powered car of the future and was taken by Tony Cassidy.
