Can I book some IELTS tutoring from my country?
You can book some IELTS tutoring from almost any country.
If you want to book some IELTS speaking sessions, all you need is access to the internet and access to a telephone or a computer with Skype installed. If you want to book IELTS writing tasks only, all you need is access to the internet.
To check if you can book IELTS tutoring from your country, contact us.
What level do I need to be to benefit from tutoring?
Our IELTS tutoring is designed for candidates who are at IELTS 5.0 and above.
As part of the enrolment process, we’ll ask if you have taken an IELTS test before and/or make an assessment of your English language level.
How will you check my level?
As part of the enrolment process, we’ll ask if you have taken an IELTS test before and what IELTS band score you got.
If you haven’t taken the IELTS test before, we’ll call you to talk about your IELTS preparation and to check if you are at the right level to benefit from IELTS tutoring.
How much tutoring do I need?
The number of writing tasks or speaking sessions you’ll need will depend on your English language level, your familiarity with the IELTS test, when your IELTS test is, and what IELTS band score you need.
If, for example, you already have an IELTS band score of 6.5 in your writing and you need to improve it to a 7.0, you may only need to take our ‘Get started – IELTS writing’ option to get the band score you need.
If, on the other hand, you need to improve your speaking and writing band scores from 5.0s to 6.0s, you may need some help over several weeks or months.
If you are unsure how much IELTS tutoring you need, contact us so we can talk about your IELTS preparation and how much help you may need.
What is the minimum number of writing tasks or speaking sessions I can do?
We ask that you do a minimum of four writing tasks or four speaking sessions (or two writing tasks and two speaking sessions) because we want our tutoring to make a difference to your performance in the IELTS test.
How will I improve my grammar and vocabulary with IELTS tutoring?
In all of our IELTS tutoring options, you’ll receive detailed feedback from your IELTS tutor on your writing and/or speaking. This feedback is often focused on helping you to use a wider range of grammar and vocabulary more accurately.
How many hours a week will I have to study?
The time you’ll need each week will depend on how many writing tasks and/or speaking sessions you choose to do.
For each writing task you do, you’ll need time to do the task, check your individual feedback and look at the example answer. This can range from 1 to 2 hours, depending on how long it takes you to do the writing.
For each 30-minute speaking session you have, you’ll need time to look at the pre-speaking task and discussion questions, have your 30-minute speaking session, and check your individual feedback. This can range from 45 minutes to over 1 hour, depending on how much time you take to prepare for your speaking session.
In all of our IELTS tutoring options, you can complete the tasks at a time that is convenient for you.
Do I need a webcam to have speaking sessions?
You can use our IELTS tutoring service without a webcam by having your speaking sessions on the telephone or Skype audio.
How do I download Skype?
